MISSISSAUGA WRITERS GROUP

This year is Canada’s 150th birthday. In my writers’ group we are putting together heritage stories. When we don’t know any difference we don’t know how good we have it. I have always loved being a Canadian especially when I went to Hungary when it was still under the Russian regime. There is so much to be grateful for here in this country. I have received so many beautiful stories about Canada and the appreciation people have to live here. It is becoming a labour of love for me and how the stories keep flowing in. I have gone to an elementary school to have them write out the reasons they love about Canada – the principal loved the idea. I also went to one high school where I do stress workshops and they are doing the same and even one student is going to draw our book cover. What a year this is going to be. We are now being approached by 2 publications to use our writers’ skills to add articles to their editions. What an opportunity this is! Everything we are doing seems to be opening up doors for us in so many wonderful ways. This will be a wonderful year for us. I retired a year ago and things are going slow for me but I am surviving. Some opportunities that would have taken me back in an office format came and then dissolved and so now I am waiting to see what is truly coming my way. I am living what I want with all that I am doing with the writers’ group. So now I know something good is coming but I just don’t know what it is. Stay tuned!!!!
